A survey by Cancer Research UK and Nivea Sun, embargoed until April 29, suggests that around 4.9m in the UK, or 10% of the population, are likely to risk scorching themselves in strong sun in an attempt to get a tan following recent cold and wet weather. The survey also reveals that 44% of those planning to holiday abroad are doing so because of the UK's poor weather.
